What is Zen?

Zen is a Buddhist tradition which developed in China on an Indian basis, and from there spread to neighbouring countries such as Japan, Vietnam and Korea.
Zen teaches that enlightenment is possible in this life, right here, right now. Realising this enlightenment is not a matter of trying, but by replacing intention with action and presence. A good way of doing this is through seated meditation called zazen.
